The basic text editor that comes standard with WordPress is called TinyMCE and although it was recently improved on WordPress 3.9 it is still, to put it politely - very basic!
Sometimes basic is good, but I personally like to have a few more options available to me when I'm creating or editing content in the WordPress editor. The standard TinyMCE editor just doesn't do it for me.
So one of the first things I do right after installing WordPress, is to upgrade the editor to more advanced version that is actually called TinyMCE Advanced. It's a free download from the WordPress Repository and adds a lot more functionality. Here are just a few of the tools that TinyMCE Advanced adds to the editor:
[icon name="check" class=""] Ability to create and edit basic tables
[icon name="check" class=""] More List options
[icon name="check" class=""] A Search and Replace tool
[icon name="check" class=""] Font Family and Font Size Contols
[icon name="check" class=""] And much more...
As you can see in the above screen capture, TinyMCE Advanced adds a lot more usefulness to the WordPress editor. Once installed, it also brings all this extra magic to the modules where Beaver Builder uses a text editor. So if you need to add a quick table, or want to change the font size, you can do it "without knowing any of the code"
TinyMCE can be downloaded for free or you can search for "mce advanced" when in the Add Plugin section of your WordPress site.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you found this useful:)
